Automated export pricing intelligence platform

A private web application that extracts, validates, and standardizes export pricing data from complex PDF trade reports into a searchable database.

Built for the global supply team at an industrial equipment business, this application replaces manual spreadsheet management with a centralized repository for trade export pricing records.

Unlike static spreadsheets, the system automatically validates extracted figures against source totals, tracks report revisions, standardizes multi-currency conversions, and links every data point directly back to its original document page.

The problem

Export pricing data was previously retyped manually from monthly PDF reports into spreadsheets. This workflow was slow, prone to data entry errors, and vulnerable to accidental overwrites without an audit trail. Answering basic historical pricing inquiries required filtering complex sheets and manually re-verifying exchange rates.

The solution

A secure web portal was deployed with automated PDF extraction pipelines that check extracted line items against source totals upon upload. The application records full document histories, normalizes currencies using historical exchange rates, and stores source references for every figure. Role-based access controls and administrative approvals protect sensitive commercial pricing benchmarks.

The goal

Transform unstructured export trade reports into an accurate, searchable pricing database with full auditability back to original document pages.
