Geographic inventory demand planning platform

An internal demand-planning tool that maps physical delivery locations to determine accurate regional warehouse stocking levels.

Designed for purchasing, supply chain, and warehouse operations teams at an industrial equipment business, this internal platform provides visibility into where consumable products are physically used.

Unlike standard accounting records that attribute orders to a customer's corporate billing address, the platform analyzes line-item delivery destinations and fulfillment hubs to establish true regional demand patterns.

The problem

Billing account records often obscure where materials are actually consumed, such as when head-office purchase orders are shipped to remote regional job sites. This disconnect makes it difficult for supply chain teams to accurately forecast inventory needs for local warehouses and third-party logistics partners. Without reliable geographic consumption data, facilities risk holding excess inventory or facing stock shortages.

The solution

The application connects directly to historical sales-order data to trace transactions down to the fulfillment warehouse and physical drop-off destination. It aggregates monthly volume and calculated averages by part number across distinct geographical regions. This replaces manual spreadsheet exports with a single interface for reviewing product movement patterns.

The goal

Provide operations teams with accurate historical consumption data to set optimal base stock levels across regional warehouses.
